Many times you see a blue badge next to the Facebook profile of a celebrity or an organization. Occasionally white badges can also be noticed. Which simply means that the page or account is verified. That means it is not a fake page. This is a fan page recognized by Facebook.
The badges are given mainly to celebrities and public figures – sports, media, politics, entertainment, global brands, businessmen, and government officials.
Facebook is a platform that is open to everyone. Anyone can create their own profile or page if they want. Even regular updates can be made by creating a Facebook page in the name of other organizations. There is no need to show any authentic identity card. As a result, anyone can open an account or page in someone else’s name.
Many famous organizations and individuals have suffered from this. Because false propaganda is run from these fake accounts or pages. Sometimes it is not completely motivated and sometimes it is just fun. Facebook has its own verification system to differentiate the original account from these fake accounts. This verification has a blue tick mark next to the name of the passed pages.
Pages, as well as Facebook profiles, can be similarly verified. Facebook usually verifies the pages of celebrities, celebrities, journalists, government officials, popular organizations, and brands. Blue-tick is given only in case of an authentic or valid account.
In this case, first, the interested individuals, organizations, and brands have to apply to Facebook for this blue badge. After receiving the application, the Facebook authorities examined the account thoroughly. You can ‘verify’ the profile or page by following the appropriate rules. Facebook has been offering such benefits for a long time to ensure the authenticity of IDs and increase acceptability.
